It is with deep regret we learned on Christmas Eve 2016 of the death of our colleague Lt.Cdr Robert Mulrooney SM (Retd) O/C Limerick An Slua Muiri and Founder member of the Limerick Branch and former President of Irish Naval Association.

Lt. Cdr. Mulrooney was Reposing at Thompsons Funeral Home, from 1600hrs to 1800hrs then removal was to St Joseph's Church, O'Connell Avenue.The Irish Naval Reserve was was well represented by Officers, NCO's and Ratings in full Uniform. The Limerick Branch of the Irish Naval Association provided an Honour Guard and marched with the Naval Reserve to the Church
Funeral Mass was held in a packed Church the next morning Thursday 1130hrs, Over 50 members of the Irish Naval Association attended in uniform, and representatives from the Naval Service, Naval Service Reserve and the Reserve Army and members of the local Rugby Club also attended.
Following the Mass the Irish Naval Association formed up outside the Church as Lt.Cdr. Mulrooney's family carried the Coffin to the Hearse.
Burial took place at Mungret Cemetery in Limerick


Mul as he was known to his many friends and colleagues will be sadly missed by all.
