The Peace Park and Tower at Messines

For our final visit before we departed for Dublin we stopped at Messines where in 1998 50 of our members were guests of Paddy Harte and Glen Barr during the Inauguration of the Peace park and Tower commemorating the men of the 36th Ulster Division and the men of the 16th Irish Division who fought and died together in Battle at Messines.

It is a great credit to those who look after the Peace Park as it is in pristine condition with beautiful hedging surrounding the park and many stone memorials with the writting and poems of many who died. We spent some time wandering around the Peace park admiring everything about the Park.
