Royal British Legion Annual Ceremony of Remembrance 2023
Three members of the Irish Naval Association attended the The Royal British Legion Annual Ceremony of Remembrance and Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Irish National War Memorial Gardens in Islandbridge on Saturday the 8thof July 2023. Officiating Clergy were Rev Peter Rutherford Chaplain to the RBL,ROI District. Father Bernard McCay-Morriss ey Chaplain to The Irish Air corps, Music was provided by Band 2 Brigade Defence Forces Ireland and Band of the 2ad Battalion, Royal Irish Regiment. The Brook Singer's were also in attendance. The welcome address was given by Mr Brian Duffy. District Chairman of the RBL.ROI. Alan Ryan carried our colours and done a great job, Sean Brennan took the photographs and I laid a wreath on behalf of the Irish Naval Association. We met a Lady at the Ceremony with her husband who had travelled from Sligo who laid a wreath on behalf of the men and women of Sligo who were killed in the two World Wars,she was a very good friend of Tom Mc Sherry our INA member in Sligo. After the Ceremony there was light refreshments provided by the Irish Army.
